Wadenhoe Winter Challenge 2008/2009

 


 

Quadracracing are pleased to confirm that the Wadenhoe Winter Challenge is back.  On each race day, we will be running an off road Duathlon (run 2 miles, bike 6 miles, run 2 miles), and an off road Quadrathlon (run 3 miles, Kayak 2 miles, Bike 6 miles, run 1 mile). 

 

This course is technically challenging and is often wet, muddy & slippery so be prepared!!!

 

Race 1 was on 30th November 2008, congratulations to Tim McDowell (Quad) and Ryan Henry (Duathlon) for winning the 2 races on the day, and all the other competitors for taking part in a great first event.  Results here  Race Report here 

 

Race 2 was on 18th January 2009, held in glorious sunshine on a fantastic winters day.  Congratulations again go to Tim McDowell (Quad) for continuing his winning streak in very sticky conditions, and to Chris Rathbone (Duathlon) for winning the races on the day, and all the other competitors for taking part in a superb second event.  Results here  Race Report here, Sample photos here, more to follow soon.

 

Race 3 was on 1st February 2009, and it was the coldest day yet.  Unfortunately, the Quadrathlon was cancelled but there was a fantastic turnout for the Run Bike Run with 37 people taking part.  The overall winner of the race was Glynn Preston.  Well done to all competitors for taking part in such freezing conditions.  Results here, Race Report here.

Entry Fee £10, BQA members £8 per race

Additional £2 entry fee for on day entry

Kayaks available for hire for £10

The lower age limit is 14 and 14 to 18 year olds must have their parents / guardian in attendance.

 

There are no shower facilities available on site.  However, there is an outdoor water tap to wash down your bikes after the event. 

 

There will also be hot soups, bacon butties, cakes and drinks available in the village town hall after each race which is only a short walking (or driving) distance from the race location.

 

So come and test out your skills in the countryside village of Wadenhoe.........
